On April 15, 2026, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan, together with the Nordic chambers in Japan, successfully hosted the Nordic Kansai Business Alliance (NKBA) Inauguration Reception at The Garden Oriental Osaka.

This landmark event marked the official launch of the NKBA, a new platform designed to strengthen collaboration between Nordic countries and Japan in the Kansai region. The initiative builds on the strong momentum created by the Nordic Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka and aims to foster long-term partnerships across key sectors such as sustainability, urban development, education, and tourism.

A High-Level Gathering

The reception brought together a distinguished audience of approximately 130 participants, including:

• Nordic Ambassadors and embassy representatives
• Senior officials from Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, and Kyoto City
• Business leaders from Nordic and Japanese companies
• Representatives from Osaka and Kobe Chamber of Commerce

The presence of high-level stakeholders highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening Nordic–Japan relations in Kansai.

Their remarks underscored the importance of strengthening Nordic–Japan collaboration and expanding engagement in the Kansai region. The Swedish Ambassador had a clear message to the audience: Don’t trust us – try us!

A key highlight was the kampai address by Hideyuki Yokoyama, Mayor of Osaka City, officially marking the opening of the reception and networking session.

The program also featured remarks by Ieaki Takeda, Director-General, METI Kansai, emphasizing ongoing projects and opportunities for collaboration between Nordic companies and the Kansai region.

Extensive networking opportunities allowed participants to exchange ideas and explore potential partnerships in a dynamic and engaging setting.

概要

2026年4月15日、在日スウェーデン商工会議所は、日本における北欧各国商工会議所とともに、「北欧関西ビジネスアライアンス（NKBA）」設立記念レセプションを、ザ・ガーデンオリエンタル大阪にて開催いたしました。

本イベントは、関西地域における北欧諸国と日本の連携強化を目的とした新たなプラットフォームであるNKBAの正式な発足を記念するものです。本取り組みは、大阪・関西万博2025の北欧パビリオンで築かれた機運を基盤とし、サステナビリティ、都市開発、教育、観光といった主要分野における長期的なパートナーシップの構築を目指しています。

ハイレベルな参加者

本レセプションには、約130名の来場者が参加し、以下のような多様でハイレベルな関係者が一堂に会しました。

• 北欧各国の駐日大使および大使館関係者
• 大阪市・大阪府・京都市の行政関係者
• 北欧および日本企業のビジネスリーダー
• 大阪商工会議所および神戸商工会議所の関係者

このようなハイレベルな参加者の集結は、関西地域における北欧と日本の関係強化の戦略的重要性を改めて示すものとなりました。
