With spring in full swing, gardening enthusiasts are now out and about, busily decorating their yards with colorful plants of all shapes and sizes. The grandness of these might suggest that for a great number of them, gardening is (and ought to be) considered as an art. But the people of Wexthuset Japan interpret gardening differently. The “Nordic urban gardening” they have begun promoting across Japan is less arcane and more down-to-earth. SCCJ visited Mr. Hiroaki Watatani, the president of Wexthuset Japan, on a beautiful cherry blossom-filled spring afternoon to learn more about the company’s core values, business strategy, and the style of gardening they have begun spreading around Japan.
